Helpful Formula's

To figure the amount of material you need:

(WIDTH X LENGTH X DEPTH) ÷ 27 = CUBIC YARD

When using this formula you must take the inches divided by 12 to come up with the depth you want to multiply. Example: If the area is 24' x 22' x 2" you have to divide 2 by 12 to come up with .166' and the formula would be as follows:

(24' x 22' x .166') ÷ 27 = 3.25 Cubic Yards

RULE OF THUMB: 1 Cubic Yard covers an area 10' x 10' x 3"

YARDS x (1.50 or 1.25) = TONS

TONS ÷ (1.50 or 1.25) = YARDS
